Review: Finding a vacuum cleaner which does a good job of removing every last pet hair from the carpets and upholstery can be difficult. But the DC25 really shows why Dyson is a leading brand.

The clever and patented Root Cyclone Dyson technology means it is powerful enough to suck up every last bit of dirt, and it wont lose suction. Like all Dysons, the DC25 has been rigorously tested to ensure it is durable for at least 10 years - and because it doesn't require dust bags, it should save you a small fortune in that time.

Review: A well designed vacuum cleaner which is lightweight to carry and very easy to store. It is extremely powerful (2000 watts) and works well on both carpeted areas and hard floors. The cord is a fairly impressive 10 metres, which is longer than many domestic vacuum cleaners and long enough to suit most people's needs. One criticism, however, is that it comes with only two additional attachments. This means if your household has pets you may have to invest in a separate tool specifically designed for picking up animal hair (although the normal head is fairly effective for this purpose).

Over all, a competitively priced option in comparison to other vacuum cleaners of this class. The Bosch BSGL4000GB was recommended as a Which? Best Buy.

Review: When it comes to vacuum cleaners, you usually get what you pay for when it comes to quality. The Electrolux Z3319 is very cheap but is surprisingly good when it comes to effective hoovering.

This model is best suited to smaller homes or as a second cleaner. However, it is still has a powerful suction, moderate features, and benefits from being extremely light to carry (4kg) and very easy to store in minimal spaces.
